We are searching for experienced freelance writers to generate blogs and other content for our organization and our clients. You will be required to write content mainly within one or more of the following themes, related to sustainable development for islands:

- Agriculture
- Community, Culture, Identity
- Sustainable Energy
- Water Security
Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions
- Writing SEO-optimized content for website pages and blogs;
- Writing copy for email announcements and campaigns;
- Creating engaging content for social media channels;
- Writing content for reports and presentations;
- Developing video scripts;
- Researching and creating infographics, science-based articles and whitepapers;
- Creating content for lead magnets such as e-books and guides;
- Reviewing, rewriting and optimizing our existent content;
- Reviewing content submissions and providing feedback to external authors;
- Coordinating with the design and web teams to deliver high-quality content pieces.
Essential qualifications
- English fluency with strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Interest and knowledge in sustainable development and island communities;
- Expertise in SEO for content;
- Prior writing experience, preferably as a freelancer;
- Portfolio of completed works;
- Own personal or laptop computer;
- Capacity to work with minimal supervision;
- Self-motivated, disciplined approach to work.
Desirable qualifications
- Fluency in other languages is a plus (especially Spanish);
- Understanding and experience working with different organization profiles such as NGOs, governments, and private companies;
- Experience working in a remote team environment.
