Climate Change Message in a Bottle

This year Scotland hosted COP26 in Glasgow, providing an exciting opportunity to get involved in global climate change discussions. Through the Climate Change Message in a Bottle project, run by Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance (SCELG) in partnership with Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre, island schoolchildren were encouraged to send messages to representatives and delegates at COP26. UistFilm and Taigh Chearsabhagh produced a short film for the project, which was showcased at various COP26 events. The interactive map below, produced by Island Innovation, shows some of the messages sent by schools to world leaders at COP26 in Glasgow! Click on the map icons to read the messages.

Sharing the Voices of Young Islanders with the World

Now that COP26 is over, we are calling on all island schools, youth groups and young people to continue to share their perspectives on climate change and sustainability. If you are based on an island, follow the instructions below to submit your message to the map.

Climate Change Message in a Bottle is funded by the Scottish Government and was founded by the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law & Governance (SCELG) in partnership with Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre, UistFilm and Island Innovation. SCELG would also like to thank Youth Scotland, Scottish Islands Federation, The Edge Foundation and Glasgow Science Centre for their collaboration on the project.
