Description:

Journalism in island communities presents its own opportunities and challenges. The media is a vital component of democracy, helping to hold elected officials and other stakeholders to account, but for smaller communities where most people may know each other, this presents its own unique challenges. With a challenging global media landscape that threatens the viability of many small outlets, how are islands responding?
