Dr. Lisa Drewe invented the term 'Islandeering' to describe her passion and argues it shares the same psychology as climbing to the summit of a mountain. Islandeering is making a circular journey around the outer edge of an island by any means possible - walking, scrambling or paddling, and Lisa has since authored a book: 'Islandeering: An explorer's guide to the islands of Britain.'
