I very much enjoyed being an Island Innovation Ambassador again this year. For me the best part was, as an Island Champion, getting my local primary school involved in the Message in a bottle project which was showcased at COP26.

The 2021 Island Innovation Ambassador Programme is terrific. I learnt a lot from James, Isabel and resource speakers /trainers. It is a fantastic experience, stress-free and every session was superb full of learning. I wish Island Ambassador Programme can allow me atleast to continue to be part of 2022 Island Ambassador Programme. There is still a lot for me to learn. Thank you James, Isabel and the whole Island Innovation Team.

Virtual Island Summit 2021 wasa great event for island nations globally. I hope it enlightened the people who participated in the event. I enjoyed and learned a lot from all the sessions I attended there. It was a great opportunity to connect with people from different islands around the world for collaboration on projects. I am waiting for VIS 2022.

Being an island ambassador allowed me to meet Islanders from around the world and learn about places and cultures that I never would have interacted with otherwise. There is so much we can learn by just listening and interacting with the many beautiful islands around the world tackling the same challenges as we are. Through this program and bringing together such diversity surely we can find creative solutions to become more sustainable and save the planet.

The Island Innovation Ambassadors Program 2021 is a eye-opening and innovation driven platform that empowers me as a serving Senior Public Servant of the Government of Papua New Guinea and also in my other role as Human Rights Defender, Male Advocate for Women's Rights as Human Rights in my Island Communities especially in Suau Island located in the Suau Rural Local Level Government Area of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. This program helped me to understand and think beyond my job description and beyond my learning in closed-nature Institutions such as the Government of Papua New Guinea especially - the Department of National Planning and Monitoring; and, as well as in Open-nature institutions such as Universities, College's and online courses taken online.
